Description:
Peak Mountaineering was formed by Paul Lewis to provide high quality mountain activities and training.

We believe in the personal touch and most of our courses are still run by Paul. We keep group sizes small and course itineraries extremely flexible to ensure your objectives are achieved whether it's a single day or a full month. Working in this way provides better value for money as you won't waste time waiting for others to do things you already know – or don't want to do!

When Paul isn't available to work with you himself he uses a team of hand picked associate instructors who share Paul's ethos and enthusiasm.

We are based just south of the famous Peak District and only 90 minutes from North Wales and the Lake District. We have thousands of world-class climbs and awesome walking terrain on our doorstep and because we've lived here all our lives, we can help you get the most from your time with us. Just get in touch and have a chat - then leave the rest to us!

As full members of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors (AMI) we are committed to providing the very highest standards of guided climbing and skills instruction in a fun and friendly atmosphere.

Rock Climbing
We specialise in tailor made courses with low ratios.  This allows us to match our activities exactly to your requirements and to progress at a pace that suits you.

Scrambling
Scrambling is the grey area between walking and climbing.  The chance to get off the popular footpaths on to some awesome mountain terrain that despite looking impossible at first glance, offers those ‘in the know’ relatively easy passage to the best summits in Britain.  Best of all, scrambling suits anyone with reasonable hillwalking fitness and a good head for heights.

Hillwalking
Don’t be fooled into thinking we are just offering guided walks here – sure you will return energised by the beauty of our wilderness, but you will also gain a wealth of knowledge on flora and fauna, geology and geography, environmental issues and land use, campcraft and navigation.

Navigation
The ability to navigate accurately is a vital skill for anyone venturing into the mountains.  At Peak Mountaineering we offer courses to suit every experience level.

Mountain Biking
Paul leads most of the rides himself and holds the OTC Technical Mountain Bike Leader Award.  If Paul isn’t available, your guide will be one of Paul’s hand picked and fully qualified associate instructor team.  We don’t have bikes so bring your own bike and equipment if you have it, or we can arrange hire for you and this usually costs around £20 per day.

Winter Courses
Peak Mountaineering's range of winter courses offer something for everyone from seasoned hillwalkers looking to develop their winter skills right through to beginners just wanting to experience the winter environment for the first time. The courses will always be tailored to suit the participants experience and we provide all the technical equipment so all you need to bring is suitable clothing and boots (we'll also happily advise you about what 'suitable' really is!).

Private Guiding
The largest part of our work is private guiding – it is our speciality.  We are very proud of the adventures we have had with our private clients and the great times we have spent together – and the fact that many of them keep coming back for more suggests we are doing something right!

Multi-Activity
So many activities - so hard to choose.  We know the problem, so we offer you the chance to try them all.  Suitable for anyone and everyone, we have run our multi activity courses with…..

• Families
• School groups
• Stag and hen parties
• Small companies
• Teams from large corporations
• Groups of friends
• Mixed singles groups

There is much more information on our website so please take a look.
